About Us 

Hiking Heroes New Jersey (HHNJ) is a chapter of Hiking Heroes, originally founded in Virginia. The organization’s signature activity involves cleaning local hiking trails during hikes, inspiring students to take direct action in caring for the environment.

Hiking Heroes New Jersey is expanding its focus by partnering with nature centers to engage teenagers in land management and invasive plant removal projects. Additionally, HHNJ manages the BCA Carbon Offset Project, an initiative that has planted over 275 native trees and 100 native perennials and raised over $4,000. HHNJ is also partnered with Re: Imagine Collective, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to innovation through sustainability and research.
